Jeffrey Kelman, CPA
Jeffrey is a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. Prior to forming the firm with Scott A. Moses in 2004, Jeffrey had been a partner at another firm in Beachwood, Ohio.
Jeffrey resides in Solon, Ohio with his wife and children.
Scott A. Moses, CPA
On January 1, 2004, Scott left a local accounting firm and co-founded Kelman & Moses with Jeffrey Kelman. Scott and Jeff have worked together since 1993, and have been friends and colleagues since the early 1980s. Scott has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, and specializes in small business accounting, consulting and taxation.
Scott graduated from The Ohio State University with a BSBA in Accounting and a BS in Psychology. He is a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor and has been using and implementing Quickbooks Pro, Quickbooks Premier, Quickbooks Enterprise, Quickbooks Online, and various other versions of the Quickbooks family of software for many small businesses.
Scott's expertise is in the hospitality field, with a concentration in the restaurant industry. He also advises on many real estate ventures and consults with clients with new businesses or companies in the infancy phase.
Mitch Seifert, CPA
Mitch graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management. He has both managerial and financial experience in the hospitality industry prior to getting into public accounting. He was a partner at Berger, Apple & Associates for 10 years before becoming a shareholder in Kelman & Moses, Inc. in 2010.
Mitch performs a wide variety of accounting functions for small businesses including payroll processing, bookkeeping, consulting, and tax preparation. Mitch is the firm's specialist in the non-profit industry as well as the analyzation and accounting for investment activity.
Steven Hartstein, CPA JD
On July 1st, 2017, Steven left as a tax partner in a large regional accounting firm and merged his practice into Kelman & Moses and a new firm was formed called Kelman, Moses, Seifert and Hartstein. Steven has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. He specializes in estates, gifts and trusts, and issues related to the taxation of closely held businesses and their owners.
Steven graduated from Cleveland Marshall College of Law and The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. As an adjunct professor for the last 20 years at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, he has taught courses in Advanced Corporate Tax, and Introductions to Corporations, Partnerships, Estates and Trusts.
Steven has served as a member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations in Cleveland and served as the acting president for the Gross Schechter Day School and served as the chairman of the Finance Committee for many years. He has been published in many well-known national financial publications and has spoken at many seminars.
Todd Zeid has practiced accounting in both the public and private sector since 1989. His work in the private sector was mainly as a company controller for various small and medium sized entities.
Todd Zeid was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He obtained his B.S.B.A. in finance from The Ohio State University in 1987.
He is married to Randi Zeid and has two children. One is a recent graduate from The Ohio State University and one is a current student at Kent State University. When he is not working, he likes to spend time long-distance running.
William Hartstein, CPA
On August 1, 2017, Bill left as an associate partner in a large regional accounting firm and merged his practice into the firm now called Kelman, Moses, Seifert & Hartstein. Bill has over 55 years of experience in both public accounting and in industry. He specializes in small businesses as well as individual taxation and tax planning.
Bill graduated from The Ohio State University in 1959, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in Accounting. He then worked in various industries for a number of years before forming his own public accounting firm, called Wm. Hartstein & Associates, which he had for over 30 plus years. Bill was also an instructor with the Becker CPA Review Course for 35 years before it was sold to DeVry University.
Bill has served as a member of the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations, as well as serving as the President of Cedar-Sinai Synagogue. Bill, along with his wife of 58 years, Phyllis, are the proud parents of sons Steven and Jonathan, along with five precious grandchildren.
Bruce Friedman, CPA
Bruce has more than 30 years of public accounting experience. He concentrates on advising clients on operations, business planning, tax strategies, estate and succession plans, and financing issues. Bruce focuses on compliance and advisory services for small to mid-sized clients. He guides financial compliance and analysis, contributes to strategic planning, and provides financial leadership to clients in addition to overseeing the accounting function. Bruce works with clients to transform their business resulting in revenue growth, improved profitability, and risk reduction through optimizing organizations' operational infrastructure. He is also involved in tax planning strategies that helps minimize taxes while optimizing profitiabllity.
Bruce is a board member for the Park Synagogue Men's Club, the Cascade Capital Corporation and he is a Vice President for The Cleveland Jewish News Foundation Board. He previously served as president of the Park Synagogue Men's Club, a board member of the Park Synagogue, the program chief of the YMCA Adventure Guides, president of B'nai B'rith, and treasurer of Rosemont Country Club. Bruce is also a co-founder of the NE Ohio chapter of the Children's Alopecia Project. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Ohio Society of CPAs. He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University.
On January 1st, 2006, Patty joined the firm as a senior accountant. She has extensive experience providing accounting and tax services to small privately held companies and individuals. She assists many of our clients with accounting software issues in QuickBooks, Peachtree and various other packages. Patty has filled in as a controller for many of our clients as needed. She is a graduate of Notre Dame College of Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.
